Dr.AneelKashi Murarka’s Ample Missiion’s ‘Samarpn’ is a one of its kind inter-school competition wherein a unique platform is provided to underprivileged kids to showcase their hidden talents. Recently, Ample Missiion joined hands with MOM (Meeting of Minds), a group of like-minded educationists, from 8 prominent slum schools, with over 5000 students, situated in the impoverished Malad-Malvani area, and organized one such event for kids comprising of Literary Arts, Performing Arts and a fashion show. Actors Neetu Chandra, Shama Sikander, Rakesh Srivastava and Sooraj Thapar graced the do and showcased their support in this noble cause. The dignitaries also celebrated a noiseless pre-Diwali by lighting diyas and distributing sweets and handmade diyas to children at the event. The day-long event was held at Shaila lawns in Goregaon East.

JOSH Foundation is an NGO for the upliftment of children with hearing impairment, set up by ENT Specialist Dr. Jayant Gandhi and Audiologist – Speech Therapist Devangi Dalal, with a mission to empower  differently-abled children.

Devangi Dalal requested those present to join the foundation to encourage the kids and play a vital role to include them in the ‘normal’ society. "The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they can only be felt," she avered.

“We, at JOSH Foundation, have believed in giving back to the society what we have received. Both Dr. Jayant Gandhi and I have worked towards benefitting children with digital hearing aids. Each device changes the life of not just the child but the family as well. We are glad that ATOS is helping us in this initiative. The sports initiative helps in the child’s self-development, inculcates confidence and team building as well,” added Dalal.

Critically acclaimed filmmaker Rahat Kazmi, known for craft like ‘Mantostaan’, ‘Identity Card’ and ‘Lihaaf’, now brings to you, ‘Million Dollar Nomad’, an international feature film in English, being backed by one of the top-notch American Distribution and Sales Companies, House of Film, known for nine Academy Award winning films.

The story of a Kashmiri shepherd who suddenly finds himself being popular in a foreign land; Million Dollar Nomad takes you on the journey through four countries. With an ensemble cast, the film stars Shoib Nikash Shah as lead opposite actresses Meritxell Ortega and Canelle Hope from Spain and France respectively; supported by Tariq Khan, Jitesh Kumar and Mujeeb Ul Hassan from India, Patrick Fremiot from France, with a cameo by Australian actor Gavin.

The film is all set to travel to festivals and film markets across the globe. Our aim,” says Rahat Kazmi, “is to target a global audience. We are trying our hands at experimental cinema, the kind of films that not only entertain the audience but also bring cultures together, at the same time, throwing light on various issues that need to addressed.”

Audiologist and Speech Therapist Devangi Dalal and ENT Surgeon Dr.Jayant Gandhi, through their JOSH Foundation, visited over 25 children from a Nasik school, with high quality digital hearing aids, based on individual requirements. With this, JOSH Foundation has completed the project of donating hearing aids to hundred kids from ATOS in a single month.
